MY GEAR

Here is a list of camera gear I haul around in my bag.  (Although not all at the same time!)  Yes, as you can see, I'm a loyal Canon girl.  My first real camera was an Elan 7 SLR film camera (I think that's what it was called).  I've had numerous Canon cameras since then and have had no problems with any of them...(knock on wood).  They feel natural in my hands and the controls are intuitive and in the right place for me.

Over the years I've accumulated a nice collection of lenses and I use all of them at times.  My latest is a 15mm fisheye f2.8.  Just for fun!  If you have any questions or want my opinion about my gear, just contact me.  I've always got an opinion!

  • Canon 5D Mark II
  • Canon 24-70 f/2.8L lens
  • Canon 70-300 f/4.0L lens
  • Canon 16-35 f/2.8L lens
  • Canon 50 f/1.8 lens
  • Canon 100 f/2.8L Macro lens
  • Canon 15 mm f/2.8 Fisheye
  • Canon Speedlite 580EX II
  • Manfrotto tripod & head
P.S.  Plus a variety of light discs, diffusers, pocket wizards, and other gizmos and gadgets!

Karen, I have a Canon Rebel xsi and have just gotten to the point I really want to learn more about photography and get some lenses. My dilema is that, as I have been reading, I think I may want a different camera body before I invest in the lenses! I am guessing that the 5D is a "full crop"??? So much to learn!! What would be your place to start with camera body and lenses??? Thank you so much.

Hi Karen,

Visiting from Anita Johnson's blog. Impressive equipment you have. I'm fairly new to photography myself. Gotta Nikon D5000, 18-55mm lens, and a 55-300mm lens. Working on getting a tripod for Christmas, speed light sometime next year. Nice to meet you. Come visit me at http://www.judysphotogallery.blogspot.com and my devotional writing blog at http://www.virtuouswomanministry.blogspot.com.
