There is a little pond filled with reeds wedged in between the freeway and a mall parking lot. I came out of the mall and saw a flock of these birds resting in the reeds. I had my camera in the car and spent a few minutes watching them. They seemed oblivious to the cars all around them. It was a pretty sight to see these black & orange birds among the brown reeds. Reminds me that there is beauty everywhere if we take time to look.
