On the Way to East Cape, New Zealand

On the Way to East Cape, New Zealand

Day 6 that I've posted a photo of a tree for a Facebook challenge.  Too much pressure!!!
Anyway, this photo was taken in a remote area of the north island of New Zealand. We traveled on this dirt road for quite some miles to reach East Cape. It is a point in NZ said to be the first place in the world to see the sun rise, however, several other locations also claim this distinction. Regardless, this drive was one of my very favorites.

From Hicks Bay to Te Araroa to the East Cape Lighthouse, Beautiful place, so remote, and peaceful, you captured it all,... right there.

That looks like a wonderful place for a drive.

I would love to travel down this path. I can see why it was on of your favorite things there. It would be mine as well. You have to do a longer travel post about your visit to New Zealand. Would love to read (and see) more.

Everything in New Zealand's landscape is beautiful. From Auckland where my sister lives, we went to the South Island and to some places but mostly southward. This in the North is also typical of their landscape and also wonderful. Next time this will be my target. Thanks Karen.
