Awe inspiring at any time of the year, but when surrounded by the beauty of hundreds of thousands of sparkling lights at Christmas time, the Salt Lake Temple is truly magnificent!
Lovely photo,I do wish we could have met up Thurs. night. We got lucky and got tickets to the Tabernacle Choirs Christmas progam so we're just heading out the door.Keep your beautiful Christmas photos comming.
Really and truly beautiful scene! If you don't mind me saying - that half circle of light in the mid-top left, is a distraction to me (but that's just me : ). But other than that, all is beautiful!!
Thanks Avery for your opinion. If we want to improve our photography we need to look at our images objectively and also see how others view them as well. The light is from a big lamp just out of the frame and I thought about removing it, but didn't because it seemed to blend in with the overall golden tones of the photo. I may go back and rethink this. Any other suggestions out there??
I think it's perfect...but ...I'm certainly just an amateur...who keeps trying...I'm always curious about things...especially this gorgeous building...what is the "statue" on the top???
Becky, the statue is of the Angel Moroni who plays an important and sacred roll in LDS (Mormon) history and faith. There are over 130 temples throughout the world and, although the architecture for each temple is different, a statue of the Angel Moroni adorns a spire on almost all of them, making LDS temples very distinctive and recognizable.

It looks like you were standing to the left of the same tree Chad was standing to the right of in his Christmas Fireworks shot.
Beautiful Karen. I can only echo what the others have said.
Oh, the beauty of night lights! Amazing shot indeed!
Such a beautiful shot..
Karen I'd say leave this one as it, it's stunning and that bit of light on the left adds to this photo I think, it sure doesn't take away from it!
It's truly beautiful!
I took your photo challenge and found a family and took images for them. Thanks for the idea.
