Sunset Sunday - California Gold Coast

California Gold

There's a reason why it is called the 'golden west'.  We were enjoying the afterglow of the sunset and I was waiting for a photo op.  These three pelicans(?) flew past just at the right moment when the floating kelp and the rocks all color coordinated with the golden glow of the sky.

Wow - looks like I'm seeing this in "real" time in "real" life! It's amazing!

perfect example of the golden coast, or golden west. and this gold is much better to me than the gold that sells for so much money. if everyone of us loved this type gold more than the other, think what our world would be. sorry i always get carried away when i see beauty like this. wich i could hear the water

I like this picture how you have a great foreground and the birds mixed in with great colors. You will have to let me know if this is an hdr. If so how did you get the so sharp?

It's so nice when everything comes together naturally like this. Really pretty and so relaxing.

Chad, no HDR on this image. Sometimes you get lucky with perfect lighting and you like it just the way it is with maybe a few minor adjustments.

That is breath taking.

"There is beauty all around". You have a way of proving that is true.

This photo really is golden! I recognize these rocks...I photographed them last year. I guess they haven't moved! To see my shot go here.

Oh my goodness! First, those rocks! And the three pelicans, all look like they were posed for you. But the color of the sky is so different from anything I'm used to!

One of those photographic moments that make this hobby so addictive! Wonderful shot!

Beautiful. I think you must have paid those pelicans to fly by, and with just the right spacing between them too.
