Buffalo on Antelope Island

Buffalo on Antelope Island

My last post reminded me of the last time I was on Antelope Island. I was really glad I was standing by my car with the door open when I took this shot!

What an amazing creature.

Sad we tried to kill them off to starve another race.

(just enjoy the Nature, Mac. Just enjoy)

What a close-up! A wilderness guide once told me that if they raise their tails - watch out!

You really do travel round -- thrilled for you.. I've always wanted to visit Antelope Island -- been close enough to do so but have never... Maybe one of these future days..wink! This is a really eye catching shot you have captured. Have to tell ya about our time driving through yellow stone park. We decided to park to the side of the road to take a few snap shots of the lake and have lunch. When low and behold here comes down the center of the road a huge "Buffalo". We were in a truck and this buffalo came right next to us brushing against the side mirror of the truck on the driver side. It's head would not have fit in the window if it had chosen to try... The buffalo continued on down the center of the road as if nothing was of interest. But I got a few good shots though..
Thanks for sharing!! Hugs

Karen, what a wonderful, majestic animal. I sometimes wonder what it would have been to see the huge herds that covered North America. Must have been a sight to behold!
