Gunlock, Utah
I have not done any outside photography for several months, and finally today I had to get outside, if only for a few minutes. My challenge was to find a scene to photograph under the following conditions:
* I only had about 45 minutes to find something of interest to photograph
* I only had time to travel within 10 miles of home
* It had to be a landscape and not a macro
* It is winter here and that means there was no snow, no flowers, no leaves or anything else really green. In other words, the scenery is mostly brown.
* In addition, the sky today was mostly covered with high, gray boring clouds, with occasional patches of blue.
The best I could do was reflections in a small pond. Oh well, it still felt great to be outside taking pictures!

Beautiful scenes and reflections.
Gorgeous. Considering those parameters I'd say you did yourself proud. Would love to see Utah. Perhaps some day. Carol
You nailed it!!! This is beautiful.
With those limitations and you come up totally trumps!!! I cannot find one word to describe this. other than " Stupendous", and so close to home.
Considering the challenge... you did great. It's a wonderful capture of sky, pond with reflections, and silence.
I find it challenging to get outside as well these days and get something good, much less if I had some rules to it. But I think your rules would actually make very good challenge here as well. You did more then well. Love this shot!

WOW! This is stunningly beautiful
gorgeous, love that tree
beautiful
But I would love to see you crop just the tree and its reflection in a portrait view ;)
Your wish is my command Mr. Wheeler! Check it out in next post.
Beautifully captured!
That tree and those bushes reflected in the pond are reason enough to go outside for a photo shoot!
You answered your challenge beautifully. The reflections in the water are stunning...
You sure can make a great photo out of nothing. The reflection is so crisp. Well done.
Karen, I think you did very well, meeting all those conditions! It's a wonderful shot! I'm fond of reflections and this one fits the bill! I also like the small signs of civilization in the two types of fences. I'm also a big fan of Sky and Cloud shots!
You turned a boring scene into pure poetry.
Thanks for all of your encouraging comments. I just had to laugh at Diane's comment. You are SO right Diane. If you could have seen where I was standing and the surrounding views, it really was nothing!!!
