It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and there is nothing as beautiful and colorful as poinsettia plants from Costco!  Now if I can just keep it alive until the 25th!!

Love the Christmas colors Karen, very festive. Hard to believe it's December, where did the year go...

it is beautiful. i don't have much luck with keeping them alive. and in Florida they grow outside and make giant bushes. but not for me.

Breathtakingly beautiful, Karen. Love how the poinsettia leaves looks so soft in this image. I never had much luck with them either.

I have one in a pot that is three years old this month. I'll be putting up a photo soon. Just waiting to see if more leaves turn red or not.

I German language this plant is called "Weihnachtsstern" - literally translated into "Christmas Star". I think that's a common name for poinsettia as well in the US?

Great holiday photo! When I buy a poinsettia, I start wishing it would die when it's still blooming in August! Good Luck with yours!

Yes that is right, moreso here where when the -ber months come, the Christmas season and decorating already begin. This shot is so beautiful as usual, sometimes i had difficulty taking photos of red colors as they come washed out or not the real color. I wonder how that is corrected. thanks.

Andrea, I know what you mean. Sometimes harsh lighting or artificial house lights wash out the colors. I often do a little post process correcting in Lightroom. Usually just a little tweak with the vibrancy or saturation slider does the trick, but sometimes I have to adjust the red slider to bring the color back to how it looks in real life.

I have them in my home this season as well. I hope they will thrive nicely, since I never got them before.
