Jan's comment in my last post reminded me that I forgot to include an important bit of information. To get the first shot of the temple I had to edit the heck out of it using different exposures. The highlights were blown out and the shadows were very deep. And of course I cropped and color corrected to the color I actually saw. Here is the best of the original photos I took:

Great work on the photoshop, and maybe it's just the photojournalism talking, but I like your SOC shot. (straight off camera). Of course, it probably wouldn't sell for big bucks at Deseret Book or something like that edited one though. Nice work!

You did a good job in regards to the highlights and shadows. It really makes a big difference, just to correct those two things. Wonderful edit, so bright and uplifting.
