HAPPY NEW YEAR.....LOOKING FORWARD!

THE DAWN OF A NEW YEAR - A TIME TO LOOK FORWARD!

It is insightful to look back at what we've learned in the past year.  And regardless of whether it has been a wonderful year filled with joy and accomplishments to remember, or one sprinkled with many challenges and disappointments, we have all grown from the experiences of the past 365 days, to become who we are and where we are today.  And now, as we look at the dawn of a beautiful new year filled with possibilities, we can choose to dwell on our shortcomings and disappointments of the past, or we can eagerly look forward to the amazing opportunities of the future.  We have the choice, but we have to do our part to make the most of each new day our Heavenly Father gives us on this earth.  My choice is to move forward with FAITH in God, HOPE for the glorious opportunities He has in store for me, and more CHARITY and kindness toward everyone I can help along the way!

My friend has produced the following short video about moving forward into the New Year.  It is the perfect message for all of us today:

P.S.  For those of you you who may be stopping by for the first time, at the beginning of each month I post an image that you can download and enjoy for your computer 'desktop'.  Please feel free to share it with friends, but please, it is not for commercial use.  It should fit nicely on your monitor and should not be blurry or pixelated.  If you have problems, let me know and I will help.  To download, click HERE, then right click to set as your Desktop Image.

Karen, I echo your sentiments! A great way to start a new year. It's strange but it feels like the slate has been wiped clean and we are beginning a new journey.
I look forward to what you and I can produce in our respective eyes!

Your sunrise photograph is lovely! I thought of photographing the dawn of a new year too, but the sun didn't cooperate. We've been enjoying a bit of a warm up here. Yesterday we reached a high of 52 degrees! There is still lots of snow on the ground. The warmer weather is creating foggy conditions. I really liked the feeling of early Spring yesterday. Colder weather is expected to return this evening.

Hi Karen,

Beautiful message! Thanks for stopping by and following my devotional writing blog. Much appreciated. I had a wonderful holiday. Took time off to be with friends and family and spent a lot of time with my camera. Wish I had more time to learn photoshop elements 9, a christmas present I received. But all in due time I suppose. I really pray this year brings lots of God's blessings for me and my family and for you and yours.

Blessings,
Judy

Awesome post as always Karen. Beautiful sunrise with such great color and detail. Great thought on the photo and great video. I look forward to another year of friendship and one of my goals is to meet you in person at one of the photowalks or something. Let us know if you're coming out to the island for a shoot or anything.

I always love the promise of a new year. Then again, I also love a new month, and a new day for that matter. I am a bit like a goldfish that way. ;o)

I wish you and yours all the best in 2011!
