Just For the Season or All Year Long???

Inviting the Savior Into Our Home
Yes, Jesus is the 'Reason for the Season', but shouldn't we remember Him all year?  Shouldn't He play an important role in our lives and in our families.  Do we invite God the Father and Jesus our Savior into our homes and strive to live the way they would want us to?  What gift could we give to them?  “The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give,’ … are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us. However, when you and I finally submit ourselves, by letting our individual wills be swallowed up in God’s will, then we are really giving something to Him! It is the only possession which is truly ours to give!" - Neal A. Maxwell

Amen! However I find that this can be a challenge at times, I turn my will over but then my humanism shows up, call it the ego if you may, and I seem to think that I can do this on my own. Something happens to make me realize that I need to get down on my knees and try again. The ego is a rather interesting part of being a human I find, recognizing it takes life experience is my opinion. Whatever I choose to do, consciously or subconsciously at least I know that I'm in touch with God. Progress, always a work in progress.

Beautiful photo Karen, absolutely beautiful!

Ok Karen, I think I'm caught up again. Lost track of how much time I've been here reading your informative posts (esp. on lighting) and looking at all your wonderful photos. Always a pleasure.

Have a truly blessed Christmas, celebrating the real reason for it, and all the best in 2011 !
