Phriday Phun

WHAT IS IT, AND WOULD YOU EAT IT????

We found these at the little fruit & vegetable stands along the roads in Costa Rica.  Jeff was brave and tasted it and said it was sweet.  I couldn't get past that it looked like a wad of mucus and I could not bring myself to taste it!

In the Philippines they are called rombuton, but Hutch always called them Dr. Suess food. They taste a little like a grape, but firmer. Delicious!

Thanks Chie and Cary for the info. I should have been braver!

Looks like an upside down sea urchin and nope - wouldn't try it - I don't "think!"

Enjoy!

It doesn't look appetizing. In fact, it looks dangerous. But given that it might be my only chance to experience it I'd probably try a dab.

Nice photo!

The mucus comment got me so, though adventurous, does not look too tempting ... however, love your phun phriday foto :) Delightful to catch up on your lovely photos.

Mom-it looks pretty, but I'm with you. It looks like snot, and I wouldn't have tasted it either. But the photo sure looks pretty.

Ohh they look like leechee to me (I'have no clue how to spell it but this is how we pronounce it).

I know it's not because these sweet goodies don't look like this on the outside.
I would have try it...

OMG! I have not seen one of these since I was shooting for the AP in Thailand. I love those. Did you ever try a druian? I love those, too.

Your photos are wonderful. I will return.
